RaceTripPlanner (racetripplanner.com, "we" or "us") is an independent fan travel guide for US race weekends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. You can use the site without creating an account.
What we collect
- Price-alert signups (optional). If you sign up for alerts we store your email address, the races you pick, an optional maximum ticket price, which page you signed up from, and the dates you signed up, confirmed or unsubscribed.
- ZIP code and location. To estimate driving distance, a ZIP code you enter is sent from your browser to the free zippopotam.us lookup service. If you choose "use my location," your browser shares your position with the page only, after asking your permission. We don't store your ZIP code or location.
- Admin sign-in. Only site administrators sign in. Their email address and a securely hashed password are kept by our database provider's sign-in service, and a session token is kept in their browser.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting, database and font providers receive standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.
How we use price-alert emails
We use your email address only to send the price alerts you asked for and messages about that subscription (such as a confirmation link). Price alerts have not launched yet, so we don't send any emails until they do. Every alert email will include an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe or ask us to delete your signup at any time by contacting us. We keep a signup until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
We don't sell or rent your email address, and we don't share it except with service providers that help us run the site and send alerts on our behalf.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or local storage, doesn't fingerprint your device, and doesn't track you across other websites. It reports aggregate information such as pages viewed, referring sites, country, and browser or device type. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Affiliate links
We may use affiliate links to partners such as Stay22 (hotel maps), StubHub (through the Partnerize network) and RVshare. When these links are present and you use them, the partner may use cookies or similar technology to record that you came from our site so we can earn a commission. Those are third-party sites with their own privacy policies. See our affiliate disclosure.
Other third-party sites
We link to official series, track and ticket sites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll post the new version here and update the effective date.
